Welcome to the Virtual tour of Aldbrough. The tour is based on the buildings and area mentioned in the village's conservation plan.

In 1086 the village was listed in the Doomsday book as Aldenburg and is one of the oldest villages in Holderness. The manor was held by Ulf as part of the baronial fee of Drogo de Brevere. The most important building is that of the Church of St Bartholomew, which has elements dating from the 11th Century.  In1764 the lands were enclosed into an area of 80 oxgangs.

The walk will take about 30 minutes if you take it steady. Most is suitable for a wheelchair with assistance.

The route leaves the Hotel via the front door, goes West along Seaside Road and Church Street, then South along Cross Street, West along High Street, Then North along Hornsea road, and East along North Street, coming back we turn South down Nottingham Road then East to see the Towery School then North into the Hotel main entrance.
